Xmittens | Amber Coppings
Xmittens are fingerless gloves that are totally green! They are designed and made in the U.S, including the fabric, thread and labels, made with vegan polyester fleece fabric with recycled polyester content and all fabric scraps are incorporated into other projects.
About the designer, Amber Coppings:
For most of my adult life I have lived, loved and created in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In 2005, I won a Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council Artist Opportunity grant to travel to Japan and learn about Japanese shibori fabric dyeing and manipulation methods from contemporary shibori masters. The colors and textures of shibori can be found in all of my designs and creations.
Xmittens use machine-sewn details to add an artistic, textural element to a functional item. The colorways are chosen to be powerful and to match current trends. In 2004, I started making Xmittens for myself to keep warm in my cold studio. Soon after, Xmittens were successfully selling in local boutiques and online. Now, people in 21 countries and 49 states (come on, Hawaii!) wear Xmittens indoors and out to keep warm and stylish.
