Kimberly Monaco

Kimberly Monaco is one of my favorite local jewelry designers.  Her jewelry is always simple, evocative, and original at the same time.  Each piece that Kim makes is carefully crafted using a combination of jewelry components, like sterling silver, gold, gemstones, pearls, and copper combined with some very unusual found objects, vintage items, or hardware.  Some of Kimberly Monaco's jewelry designs have all of these elements combined.

What always strikes me about Kim's work is how she manages to put these diverse elements together to form simple, elegant jewelry that can be worn from day to night, with casual or office wear.  Kim's found object additions can be anything from a feather to a beach stone, and she often adds vintage keys and harmonicas to her work, but what fascinates me the most is when she turns hardware into jewelry.
