Beaches Inc. | Lorie and Troy Dalrymple

Natives of Ashtabula, Ohio, Lorie and Troy Dalrymple have formed a business around making beautiful unique found Lake Erie beach glass in to even more beautiful jewelry.

They specialize in both the design and the manufacture of the jewelry, including the collection of the beach glass, designing of each piece of jewelry, and drilling and creation of the pieces themselves.

"On the Great Lakes, we call it Beach Glass. On the Oceans, it's called Sea Glass. No matter where you collect...it is a piece of history. Glass from another time that has been deposited into a body of water in a much different form. Bottles, glassware, flatware, stoneware. All of this glass gets broken down in the surf into smaller smooth pieces. This can take an average of 10 to 15 years of being in the water.

After decades of being tumbled and polished by the natural forces of the waves, the glass will develop a frosty patina. These pieces have seen a minimum of 20 to 30 years action in the waves, sand, and air. Some dismiss it as just old beer bottles...maybe, but we like to think of them as little treasures from another time. .....we hope to see you on the beach."
